No Mess Decluttering, Events, and Still No AC
A weekend of two back-to-back events (a French patisserie and a bookstore-lounge clothing swap), eight upcoming markets through November, a new decluttering video recorded at 2am, and a hotel-room studio for the first week of school.
This past weekend brought two back-to-back events. Violette Bakehouse near UT is a wonderful French patisserie β everything was decadent, and the owner and employees were so kind and accommodating. I can't wait to vend there again. Funnily enough, I met a French couple the very next day at the Bat Babes event inside Wheatsville South, and got to put my broken French to good use trying to explain and translate the term "Gender Spicy."
π Upcoming events
Here's where you can find me β I'd love to say hi:
-
Sat, Aug 15 β Austin Artisan Market
Indoors! I'm bringing my gridwall, so a little bit of everything will be on the table. -
Sat, Aug 22 β Bluebonnet Craft Expo (Vinyl & Vino)
New venue and now we're all inside β woohoo! I'll have one table, so mainly stationery and small pouches for this one. -
Sun, Aug 23 β Austin Creative Reuse, Summer Sundays
I'll be showcasing all of my up-cycled products β totes, junk journals, and collage greeting cards. -
Sat, Sep 5 β Downtown Pflugerville Market
Jo and I are braving the summer heat again β but this time we have a tent. That means all of our inventory, including Jo's acrylic paintings! -
Sun, Sep 6 β ATX Book Fair
A brand-new location for me β I've never been to Dripping Springs, so this promises to be exciting. -
Sun, Sep 13 β Bears, Beards & Brews
Adult-only, LGBTQ+ friendly venue β I'll be focusing on my pride products including the Prideful Magpiesβ’ Collection. -
Sun, Sep 27 β ATX Book Fair
Books, coffee, and a beer garden β local authors, plants, art and all ages. -
Fri, Nov 13 β TAEA Multiverse Artisan Market
A special evening market for art educators at the TAEA conference. If you're at the conference, swing by!
If you make it out to any of these, please come say hi β meeting the people behind the orders is honestly my favorite part of doing this. π
π¬ New video drop
This week I recorded myself at 2am β the AC is still on the fritz, so late-night was the only cool-enough option. I'm going to stop recording without Jo's help though; the framing ended up a little too close. On the good side: I still managed to declutter for a whole hour.
If it made you smile, a like or comment genuinely helps this little corner of the internet grow. Subscribe to catch the next one.
𧡠From the worktable
This week was the first week of school, so nothing's happening in the studio right now. We actually got a hotel room because we need to be bright-eyed and bushy-tailed for the students (and the AC situation at home isn't helping). I brought my watercolors with me and I'm working on a large zentangle/watercolor piece in the meantime.
I'll also finally be uploading the previously recorded video of me making book sleeves and zippered pouches from the wool sample pack β that one's been sitting in the queue for a while.
Thanks for following along, and here's to cooler days ahead. π
