Two Videos and Life Updates
The AC is finally on the mend after a hotel detour, two new videos are up (a life update with real market numbers, and the long-awaited book sleeves and zippered pouches tutorial), an ACEO art swap surprise arrived in the mail, and eight markets are on the calendar through November — including a new holiday market in Leander.
The AC coil got replaced on Friday and still didn't cool the house, so we ended up renting a hotel room — where I recorded and published a video anyway. Jo also helped me finally wrangle three hours of footage from making book sleeves and zippered pouches out of that wool pile into something watchable, so that one's dropping Wednesday evening at 6pm Central. When we got home, there was a surprise waiting: Abby Houston's ACEO Art Swap had sent out the pieces, and mine had arrived. I'm holding off opening it on camera — I promise I haven't peeked! And the AC is finally on the mend, so I can get back to the studio's "No Mess Decluttering."
📍 Upcoming events
Here's where you can find me — I'd love to say hi:
-
Sat, Aug 22 — Bluebonnet Craft Expo (Vinyl & Vino)
This one's moved indoors for good — I'll have one table, mainly stationery and small pouches. -
Sun, Aug 23 — Austin Creative Reuse, Summer Sundays
I'll be showcasing my up-cycled products — totes, junk journals, and collage greeting cards. -
Sat, Sep 5 — Downtown Pflugerville Market
Jo and I are braving the summer heat again, tent and all — that means our full inventory comes along, including Jo's acrylic paintings. -
Sun, Sep 6 — ATX Book Fair
A new location for me — I've never made it out to Dripping Springs, so this should be a fun first. -
Sun, Sep 13 — Bears, Beards & Brews
Adult-only, LGBTQ+ friendly venue — my pride pieces, including the Prideful Magpies™ Collection, will be front and center. -
Sun, Sep 27 — ATX Book Fair
Books, coffee, and a beer garden — local authors, plants, art, and all ages welcome. -
Fri, Nov 13 — TAEA Multiverse Artisan Market
A special evening market just for art educators at the TAEA conference — if you're there, come find my table. -
Sat–Sun, Nov 21–22 — Holidays at the Homestead
A brand-new stop for me — a two-day Christmas market at the Mason Heritage Homestead. Times TBA, but I'll share details as soon as I have them.
If you make it out to any of these, please come say hi — meeting the people behind the orders is honestly my favorite part of doing this. 💛
🎬 New videos
Two this week. First, I recorded myself recounting a recent event and sharing the real sales numbers — a little more candid than usual, but I think you'll like it.

Second, the one three hours of footage in the making — book sleeves and zippered pouches sewn from that big pile of wool samples. Jo helped me finally get it edited, and it's dropping Wednesday evening at 6pm Central.

🧵 From the worktable
This week I'm concentrating on up-cycled bags, collage-style greeting cards, and junk journals — stock's running low, and I'll be showcasing all of it at Austin Creative Reuse's "Get Out the Vote" event this Sunday. I'm hoping to squeeze in more "No Mess Decluttering" progress too, now that the AC is finally cooperating.
Thanks for following along — here's to a cooler house and two new videos. 💛
