What's in the Box? Part Two!

The new embroidery machine has arrived! Last week we took the day off to receive it and unbox it. I find myself scrambling from product to product recently. Does this happen to anyone else? A month ago, I decided to make a new batch of totes. I cut out enough "outer fabric" to make 13. As I started cutting the lining, I noticed that I only had enough of the lining fabric to make 9. I set aside the four extras in my "project" corner and kept going. Then as I was sewing the outer fabrics together, adding handles and my labels, I noticed that the specific fabrics were a bit less structured. I completed one from start to finish to see if I liked the floppy style. I did, but then I needed to pivot to a different product. This past week I got down to only one tote left (the floppy one). So I headed back to the pile of unfinished totes, grabbed enough to complete one, added stabilizer for structure and finished it. This is how I end up with piles of projects in different stages of production all over the place. I wonder if anyone else can relate.

🧡 From the Worktable

This past week I decided to revisit those scraps of wool from the book sleeves and zippered pouches video. I sewed them up to create large enough pieces to make two crossbody bags. I feel like they came out really nice. I also made three more in the style I made last week. I'll add some pictures below. I also started in on the triptych style panels. For now I am only putting one panel of three onto one side of each tote. I am also making the three panels into three individual pockets. I'll add a picture of my first one below.
